15 години след като Негово Високопреосвещенство Сливенският митрополит Иоаникий в съслужие със свещеници от Сливен на 16 юни 2008 година – Свети Дух, е извърши ритуал за полагане основен камък за изграждане на новия православен храм „Света Петка“, дойде дългоочаквания момент в който той да бъде открит. Това ще стане на 14 октомври(събота) 2023 г.,-денят в който честваме паметта на най-голямата българска светица Света Преподобна Параскева – известна като Света Петка.
Изграждането на храм „Света Петка“ стана благодарение на стотици миряни и дарители от Сливен, страната и чужбина. Община Сливен благоустрои мястото около храма и територията на парк „Юнак“, където е разположен този Божи дом.
Откриването на храма ще извърши Агатополски епископ Иеротей – викарий на +Сливенския митрополит Йоаникий.
Празникът ще започне още на 13 октомври /петък/ – 17:00 ч. – с Архиерейска вечерня.
На 14 октомври /събота/ – богослужението ще започне в 08.00ч с празнична утреня, а около 09:30 ч. ще започне Архиерейска света Литургия и официалното откриване на новопостроения храм „Св. Петка“, гр. Сливен;
